In this mixed level ongoing class you will learn the beautiful art of bellydance in an inclusive and supportive environment whilst enjoying the restorative benefits of dance, movement and music.

This class will revisit fundamental dance vocabulary during warm-up and technique drill segments and will challenge you by introducing varying complexities of layering to suit different abilities, fun combinations, choreography and improvisation skills.

Whether you are a new or seasoned bellydancer you will refine your technique, whilst being challenged to develop and enjoy the restorative benefits of dance.

If you enjoy dance and want to have fun learning this mesmerising art form whilst also improving your posture and strengthening your core arms, legs and feet, then this class is for you.

This Bellydance class is suitable for women during various life stages:

preconception, prenatal (after 12 week check if already attending), postnatal (after 6-8 week check), peri & post menopausal

In general classes will include the following practical elements/segments:

Warm-up & mobilisation routine

Technique drills

Choreography combinations

Improvisation

Stretch & release

Technique is broken down so that it is easy to learn, hence no previous experience is necessary.

Please wear form fitting clothes and be prepared to exercise barefoot, dance slippers or in pilates/yoga socks.

Your Instructor is here to help and support you. If you have any questions please get in touch online, arrive to class early or linger afterwards for a chat. If you have any special considerations please ensure that you disclose them as soon as possible to your instructor. 

Prior to class you will complete the following:

Heath, fitness screening via an online form

Bellydance Beautiful Monthly membership £40

Maria’s class is great for everyone whatever level/ability:-interesting music and choreography and a really supportive/enthusiastic teacher. 

 

After a class I feel much happier on the way out than on the way in! I have gained improved self-confidence, and I find the focus needed to dance is actually very good for clearing the mind (kind of like active meditation).

I liked the way that Maria made complicated things easy to learn and made me feel comfortable and welcome.  I also like the relaxed attitude and that class is enjoyable. 

 

I enjoy the way the classes are structured with a good mix of technique, drills, combos and choreography, with variations for different levels of dancer.  After a class I feel relaxed and my muscles tend to feel a bit less knotted up!
